What does OCN Thailand WANT ?

(Organization Development Network for Children’s Right to Protection in Northern Thailand ) Each day is a vital day for life, for all living beings or things. On this earth, we live each day to survive, but each day is a good day for "long gon kreua kaai pat-ta-naa sit-ti dek lae gaan bpok bpong dek paak neua". The acronym / abbreviation OCN Thailand, in English, stands for : "Organization Development Network for Children’s Right to Protection in Northern Thailand"... O for Organization... C for Children... N for Northern.

As a Non-Governmental and a non-profit Organization, we started to work on October 29, 2553 / 2010 with a main aim : "YAAK" which can be translated into English as "WANT TO", because our strong wish is to work where we can be able to share, TO learn, and to BE CREATIVE. By working or organizing its activities, in the most joyful and positive way, OCN Thailand, from the beginning, had the strong commitment to have an expertise in the knowledge, written in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child Article 1 (definition of the child) Everyone under the age of 18 has all the rights in the Convention. Article 2 (without discrimination) The Convention applies to every child whatever their ethnicity, gender, religion, abilities, whatever they think or say, no matter what type of family they come from. Article 3 (best interests of the child) The best interests of the child must be a top priority in all actions concerning children. Article 4 (protection of rights) Governments must do all they can to fulfill the rights of every child. and a friendly project to promote daily creativity in Wiang Haeng District of Chiang Mai province, with the aim to make communities socially happier and also several other projects, where OCN Thailand, was invited as a guest speaker to teach about this LEARNING process or as a lecturer for government agencies and private organizations in Northern Thailand, so to create a network dedicated for youth, in order to comply the wish ("YAAK" = WANT TO) of the organization.

We started to work on the development of a small project about AIDS prevention in a vocational college, because we want to work for the youth with their own involvement and for some of them, with the possibility to express their own vocational ability in leadership. We ("YAAK" = WANT TO) show to these young people that they can have a positive image of themselves or that they may have for themselves a successful vocational training process. In the past, people thought that the children will not be able to learn through a vocational education.... children will often be disobedient, ineffectual, irresponsible and they will only create social problems for the family and inside the community. Working principles of OCN Thailand are : to work with full commitment, to be a model through its professional actions, to create and share happiness for a better harmony in our communities, for the giver, as for the one who receives it

Five years ago, when we founded OCN Thailand and up to now, our core objective is our AEC program "Asean Education for Children"... a life skills program for youth in Asean countries (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and in all Asian countries The project is aimed to build some cross-cultural and relational exchanges, for young children, regarding their education and their life skills, between Asean or Asian countries. We think that the communication between children and the sharing of knowledge with each other, would be the positive reason of "YAAK = WANT TO" exchange about their languages, their culture, their health Our organization could be a key link for children and young people, in accordance with the 4 first articles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Children and we believe that OCN Thailand can give a positive opportunity to children in Thailand, so to be more open to other young people around the world, while increasing their knowledge. Through the use of multiple channels and ways, the public media consists of networks which operate and collaborate locally, regionally, nationally and internationally with organizations under the banner of development network for children's rights to protection. Or more briefly, OCN Thailand will be part of a "YAAK = WANT TO" network. We want to create this YAAK commitment, for children, youth, families, so to help communities, to be socially creative and happy.

( สวัสดี องค์กรเครือข่ายพัฒนาสิทธเด็กและการปกป้องคุ้มครองเด็กภาคเหนือ ) วันแต่ละวัน เป็นวันที่มีความสำคัญต่อทุกชีวิตทุกสรรพสิ่ง ที่อยู่บนโลกนี้เพื่อดำเนินชีวิตให้มีการอยู่รอดในแต่ละวัน แต่วันทุกวันเป็นวันดีๆสำหรับองค์กรเครือข่ายพัฒนาสิทธเด็กและการปกป้องคุ้มครองเด็กภาคเหนือ หรือเรียกย่อๆ ว่า (OCN Thailand ) มาจากคำย่อภาษาอังกฤษ คำว่า : Organization Development Network for Children’s Right to Protection in Northern Thailand เป็นองค์กรสาธารณประโยชน์ เราเริ่มทำงานเมื่อวันที่ 29 ตุลาคม 2553 โดย เริ่มจากความ ( อยาก ) หรือ ภาษาอังกฤษ เรียกว่า ( Want ) โดย เราได้ให้ความหมาย คำว่าอยาก คือ การทำงานด้วยความอยาก เช่น อยากแบ่งปัน อยากเรียนรู้และสร้างความอยาก ในการทำงานหรือทำกิจกรรมที่มีความสุข โดย OCN Thailand เริ่มทำงานจากความอยากในการอยากเป็นวิทยากรกระบวนการให้ความรู้ภายใต้หลักพื้นฐาน อนุสัญญาสิทธิเด็ก 4 ข้อ ข้อที่ 1.สิทธิการมีชีวิตรอด ข้อที่ 2 สิทธิการมีส่วนร่วม 3. สิทธิการได้รับพัฒนา 4.สิทธิได้รับการปกป้องคุ้มครอง หรือภาษาอังกฤเรียกว่า CRC ( Convention on the Right of the Child ) สอดคล้องกับชื่อองค์กร เครือข่ายพัฒนาสิทธเด็กและการปกป้องคุ้มครองเด็ก โดยเราเริ่ม ทำงานเป็นวิทยากรจัดกระบวนการเรียนรู้ให้เด็กเยาวชน โดยเริ่มโครงการป้องกันการตั้งครรภ์ไม่พร้อมในเด็กเยาวชาติพันธุ์ ให้กับศูนย์พัฒนาชาวเขาจังหวัดเชียงราย ในพื้นที่ ตำบลป่าเมี่ยง อำเภอแม่จัน จังหวัดเชียงราย และโครงการช่วยเพื่อนก้าวสู่วันใส่อย่างสร้างสรรค์ พื้นที่ อำเภอเชียงเวียงแหง จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ให้กับองค์กรชมสร้างสุขเพื่อสังคม และอีกหลายโครงการที่ทาง OCN Thailand ในการเป็นวิทยากรจัดกระบวนการเรียนรู้ให้กับหน่วยงานภาครัฐและเอกชนทั้งในพื้นที่ภาคเหนือและเป็นการสร้างเครือข่ายการทำงานด้านเด็กและเยาวชน ทั้งนี้เพื่อตอบสนอง (ความอยาก )ขององค์กร เราเลยเริ่มพัฒนาโครงการเล็กๆในการทำงานเรื่องป้องกันโรคเอดส์ในวิทยาลัยอาชีวศึกษา เพราะเราอยากทำงานภายใต้ความอยากจากเด็กเยาวชนในการมีส่วนร่วมของเด็กเยาวชนและมองเห็นมุมๆเล็กหรือพื้นที่เล็กๆให้เยาวชนอาชีวศึกษาแสดงความสามารถหรือการเป็นผู้นำในเรื่องบางเรื่องที่น้องๆเยาวชน (อยาก)แสดงออกให้คนทั้วไปรับทราบมุมมองในแง่ดีหรือภาพลักษ์ในทางที่ดีของเด็กอาชีวศึกษาก็มี เพราะที่ผ่านมาคนทั่วไปจะมองภาพเด็กอาชีวศึกษาเป็นเด็กไม่เรียน เกเร ไม่ได้เรื่อง ไม่มีความรับผิดชอบ สร้างแต่ปัญหา ให้กับครอบ ครัว สังคม โดยการทำงาน ของ OCN Thailand ยึดหลัก (การทำงานจากความอยาก ยกระดับการทำงานแบบมืออาชีพ สร้างการยอมรับในสังคม และ แบ่งปันอย่างมีความสุข ทั้งผู้ให้และผู้รับ ) ทั้งนี้ต้องขอขอบคุณกองทุนประชากรแห่งสหประชาชาติ ประจำประเทศไทย ( UNFPA Thailand ) ที่เห็นความสำคัญสำหรับการเปิดพื้นที่ในการสร้างผู้นำเยาชนอาชีวศึกษาในการพัฒนาศักยภาพในตัวเองภายใต้โครงการ การพัฒนาศัยภาพเครือข่ายแกนนำเยาวชนอาชีวศึกษารู้เท่าทันป้องกันการตั้งครรภ์ไม่พร้อมในวัยรุ่น และขอขอบคุณ ช่องทรู ปลูกปัญญาในการเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการสื่อสารให้สาธารณชนรับทราบว่าเยาวชนเหล่านี้สามารถเป็นผู้นำและทำกิจกรรมที่สร้างสรรค์ได้อย่างมีความสุขและช่วยเหลือสังคมการเป็นผู้นำที่ดีและคุณภาพ ตลอด 5 ปี ที่ผ่านมา จนถึง ปัจจุบัน OCN Thailand มีเป้าหมายหลักที่สำคัญ คือ (Asean Edocation for Children’s Program ) โครงการการศึกษาและทักษะชีวิตสำหรับเด็กเยาวชนในภูมิภาคอาเซีย เป็นโครงการสร้างความสัมพันธ์และแลกเปลี่ยนการศึกษาและทักษะชีวิตเด็กต่อเด็กระหว่างประเทศในภูมิภาคอาเซีย เราคิดว่าการสื่อสารเด็กต่อเด็กและแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ซึ่งกันและเป็นสิ่งที่เกิดจาก(ความอยาก) เช่น การแลกเปลี่ยนในด้านภาษา วัฒนาธรรม สุขภาพ และ มิตรภาพรวมไปถึงทักษะชีวิตของเด็กเยาวชนในแต่ละประเทศ โดยองค์กรเป็นส่วนหนึ่งการเชื่อมโยงหว่างเด็กเยาวชนภายใต้การทำงานที่ยึดหลักสิทธิเด็ก ทั้ง 4 ข้อ และเราเชื่อว่า OCN Thailand สามารถ เปิดพื้นที่เด็กๆเยาวชนๆให้คนทั่วโลกรับรู้และรู้จักมากขึ้น โดยผ่านช่องทางหลายๆช่องทาง ทั้งสื่อสาธาณะรวมทั้งเครือข่ายในการทำงานในพื้นที่ ภูมิภาค ประเทศ และต่างประเทศ ภายใต้ ชื่อ องค์กรเครือข่ายพัฒนาสิทธเด็กและการปกป้องคุ้มครองเด็กภาคเหนือ หรือเรียกย่อๆ ว่าOCN Thailand นี้เป็นส่วนในการทำงานจากความอยาก เราจะเป็นผู้สร้างความอยาก ให้เด็กเยาวชน ครอบครัว ชุมชน ช่วยเหลือสังคมอย่างสร้างสรรค์ และมีความสุข
